Design Thinking Project
Challenge: When I joined the Austin High Academy of Design & Technology as the team lead and English teacher, the Academy lacked a cohesive curriculum. I developed a year-long design thinking challenge grounded in our values of 21st-century learning and our pillars of innovation, critical investigation, self-directed learning, communication, and collaboration. Students worked together, applying design thinking to create impactful solutions for their community. They also read Designing Your Life by Bill Burnett and Dave Evans, engaging in self-reflection and career exploration along the way.
